COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME

Annual Report 2009-10

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangatan   had launched Common Minimum Programme in 2007-08 as its flag ship programme for the strengthening of primary education. It is aimed at providing the latest technological facilities and other resourses for effective and joyful learning. It also enhances different skills of teachers.

In order to implement C M P for qualitative improvement of the primary education, various programmes,  strategies and activities are planned in our Vidyalaya.

In order to address the varied needs of teaching – learning material for conducting activities and preparing worksheets every month Rs. 2000/- is used towards it. A separate activity cum teaching – learning resource room is set up with L C D projector. Film shows are arranged periodically for the children.

Cluster level competitions for classes III to V were organized this year at KV I Pondy on 24/11/10 & 25/11/10. In CCA,  English and Hindi recitation , art Competitions , wonder from waste , Rangoli , Group song and group dance competitions were conducted. In sports, Running race , frog race , Lemon and spoon race, Potato race , for class III , Lemon and spoon skipping and  3-legged  race relay race for Class IV  and Class V were conducted. Our children bagged many prizes in most of the events.

Grand Parents’ day was celebrated on 21/10/09 and more than one hundred grand parents attended it. All were very happy to attend such a function and expressed their views about it.

Community lunch was arranged on 22-10-09. Children brought special items and shared it along with their classmates and teachers.

An educational trip was arranged on 3-1-10 to Anna and MGR memorials, Children's park , snake park and Dakshin Chitra . More than 160 children from classes III to V visited the places along with all the primary teachers.

A field trip was arranged on 29-1-10 for all the classes.  I & II standard students visited the nursery, III standard students visited the post office and IV and V students visited the sewage treatment plant. It was a nice trip and all the children enjoyed it very much.

To promote creativity and expression a manuscript magazine was created by every class and section. It was formally released by the Principal on 4-3-10. Many children contributed articles , poems , drawings etc.

The KVS perceives the child as the most valuable entity. The child is at the centre stage in all our school  activities.
